Match 6A Haringey Borough V Yeovil Town

Well what to call this, the programme said replay, I'm not sure that's the right phrase. I think more its the rerun. A Tuesday night game means no JJ.  I always hate midweek games, we were so lucky last time we did this, to only get one replay. Midweek games just don't really work with JJ. His meds have to be equally spread over the 24 hours and also he's only likely to last an hour before he's out for hours. So the only sensible thing is to go it alone.

I'd weeks ago already agreed to be in Leicestershire with work that day, so a 5pm clothes change and swift departure saw me making the long journey down the M1 to the game. I'm so glad I did, I got there about 30 mins before kick off and the car park was pretty much full already, a huge change to the 1st game (Spurs were at home that day). I walked in and our spot from last time was closed off for TV, so I went left and nearer to that end from the original game.

As I stood waiting for kick off I looked left and realised the end behind that goal was closed off. Whilst I have no issue with the decision given what happened 1st time around, its desperately sad that such an unusual measure was needed in football. In actual fact the gesture was probably not needed there was no where near the away following from the 1st game. I will add the Yeovil fans that were there were fabulous throughout the game.

It was a great atmosphere and for that I'm thankful, to be honest the 1st half wasn't great from a home perspective maybe the build up and thoughts of the original was playing a big part, maybe Haringey were just having an off night but Yeovil bossed it in the 1st half and went in one up.

The second half was a much closer contest and had Haringey took there first chance it may have been different, unfortunately they didn't and shortly after Yeovil extended their lead. They eventually ran out 3-0 winners but there were chances at either end.

In the end the best side won, but, frankly given all that had happened I was just thankful that the game passed without any further incident.

So that's it for now in North London, I've said it before but given the magnitude of what happened I hope that Haringey can get back to the football and focus on that going forward, both JJ and I hope the rest of their season passes without any further issues and that they have a really successful season.

Next up we will hopefully be heading for Yeovil and the game against Hartlepool United.
